When I bought my furniture about 4 years ago, the sales person swore up and down that the warranty would take care of everything that could go wrong with my furniture. She said if they couldn't fix it, that I would get credit towards another sofa.

Well fast forward four years, and I am dealing with the VIP warranty service and cannot stress enough how dismal their customer services is. I submitted my claim in early 2018, well before the October sunset of my warranty. They sent someone over to "service" my sofa and recliner on January 12. But, the gentleman didn't service anything.

He just came to take pictures and then said that Living Spaces would get back to me about the final answer. A week later, I got the following email: "Based on the information that was reported, you have cracking/peeling on your furniture. Cracking/peeling only qualifies for a service repair parts can not be order. Please refer to your protection plan for specific coverage and exclusion information.

Regards, Warranty Services Should you have any questions regarding this claim, please reply at your convenience." I waited for additional instructions regarding the "service" that I was qualified to receive. Being as no one ever followed up with me, I called them up on 1/27 and they said that I was supposed to call them and let them know i wanted service. I told them that I assumed the "claim" meant I wanted services. They said ok, but I can't authorize the service because a supervisor isn't here to do it (it was a weekend).

They said I had to leave a message on the supervisor's voicemail and he would call me back. The voicemail gave me three seconds to leave a message before it hung up on me. I called back today, 1/29 and was told that my claim was being dismissed because the issue was "pealing" which was not covered by the warranty. As such, I couldn't get services in accordance to the warranty language.

I told them that wasn't what I had been told before and that this was the first time I was being told my claim was dismissed. I'm so disappointed with the lack of accountability and dismal customer service by VIP and Living Spaces personnel who sold me on something they had to have known wouldn't meet their promises.

Whatever you do, DO NOT buy the warranty. It's not worth it.
